Terms of service
Last updated September 30, 2026
These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Limits ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
The service
The app lets you set minimum and maximum quantities, pack sizes (multiples) and order value limits. It creates one checkout rule in your Shopify store, powered by the app's Shopify Function, which checks carts at checkout; it shows the limits on your storefront through theme blocks; and it lets you try carts in a simulator. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.
Your rules
You decide the limits, what they apply to and the messages customers see, and you are responsible for them. The app checks each order (the cart at checkout); it doesn't count past orders. Please try your rules in the simulator and with a test order after changing them. If the checkout rule itself ever fails to run, Shopify lets the checkout continue rather than blocking your customers.
Billing
Plans are billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can cancel at any time by changing plans or uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.
Data processing addendum
The app is designed not to store personal data of your customers: its checkout rule runs inside Shopify and can't send data anywhere, and the storefront script reads the shopper's own cart in their browser without sending it to us. To the extent the app processes any personal data on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor, and we will:
- process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
- process only the minimum data needed, and never store customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, orders or carts;
- never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
- keep data confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
- encrypt data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest);
- use Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
- delete all shop data after uninstall (shop redaction) and respond to Shopify's customer privacy requests;
- help you respond to data subject requests and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.
Changes
We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
